Follow-up on Critical Issues
Who remembers that lovely "Food Lion" exposé we watched in critical issues? Not to mention the ensueing debate...
Anyways, 15 (or was it 20) years later, MSNBC does something similar. The results, however, are not quite the same. Make sure you check out the results.

PS - Am I the only one who had never heard of Food Lion before that class???

the main difference between the horrible dateline episode and the abc food lion story is dateline employees didn't get jobs at the market to do "undercover" reporting.
and btw, that dateline episode was so, so, SO bad. with every new network newsmagazine episode i watch, i am amazed at how they can continue to lower the bar.
crappy writing, inane stories and on-air "talent" over-emoting more than a drippy american idol contestant, it's no wonder their ratings are through the floor. their ratings suck because their stories suck!
(and yeah, food lion is new to me, too. we don't have those filthy stores in southern california)

Oh, my point wasn't about the journalistic issues at stake. I just meant, isn't it funny that Food Lion is considered one of the clean ones now?? :-)
